Chapter 57

Part 58 – Back to Mumbai!

After that honeymoon, it felt so awkward to be back in Mumbai. No more beautiful sight-seeing, no more being a first time honeymoon couple, no more great food, clothes, restaurants and especially no more privacy. They were back in Mumbai – back to SN and here there was nothing new and exciting like their honeymoon. But still, it felt good to be back in one's own country again. Manthan held his wife closely at Mumbai airport. Their flight had been on time but Isha and Eklavya hadn't reached Mumbai yet and Nisha, as the usual, was worrying too much.

 

M: Nisha, this stuff happens all the time. Flight delays and all. Don't worry too much Come on, we should at least call home to let them know that we've reached here safe and sound. They'll be worrying too.

N: Alright.

M: Ok, you wait here, I'll go and call home, ok?

 

             Nisha nodded and Manthan left to make his call. Nisha gazed around to see if she could see her sister or Eklavya anywhere. They had been waiting for almost an hour now. Where were they? Nisha tried not to worry. Manthan was right; they were probably stuck somewhere right now. They probably had a flight delay. But what if something happened to them, Nisha thought. No, she told herself, don't think negatively! Suddenly she saw a lot of tanned skin and big grins. It was Isha and Eklavya!! They were fine! Nisha waved frantically at them. Isha saw her and ran as fast as she could to her. The two twins hugged each other for a long time. Going back home on their way, Isha stopped the car beside a pharmacist store.

 

N: What did you need from the pharmacy?

I: Oh- um…Iron pills! I ran out of them in Maui…

N: Oh, ok.

             Nisha looked at her sister a little suspiciously but didn't bother to argue. After all, she was totally tired from the plane ride and desperately needed some sleep. All of them needed some sleep. And that's exactly what they did right after they got home and after everybody asked them the usual, "How was your honeymoon?" very mischievously. Everyone went right to sleep except Isha and Eklavya. While Eklavya was taking a shower, Isha was sitting on her bed wondering what to do.

 

             Isha sat on her bed and replayed her afternoon. It couldn't be true! How could it be true? So quickly? And how was she going to tell Eklavya about this? She decided to call Nisha up and ask her. But how was Nisha going to react to all this? How could she just call up her sister and tell her news like this? Suddenly Eklavya walked into their room.

 

I: Eklavya…?

E: Yeah, Isha?

I: Umm…Can you – (Gulps) sit down. I have to tell you something…
