Part 26 – Confessions

I: Didi?
N: Isha?
I: Aap yaahan?
N: I was at the party and you were supposed to be there too! So what happened?
I: Woh umm…I went somewhere with Eklavya…

     Nisha looked from Isha to Eklavya. After their perfect evening together, Manthan and Nisha had searched the whole house for Isha but didn't find her anywhere. They resolved that she probably went home soon. But by looking at Eklavya and Isha's faces, Nisha knew that Isha hadn't been home. And what on earth was Isha doing in a saree?

N: Ok, theek hai, chalo Isha…Bye Eklavya, bye Manthan

     Manthan waved at her. Nisha caught his arm and whispered, "Thanks for everything" Both girls went in their apartments and closed the door behind them, both not wanting their perfect evenings to end. Nisha looked over at her sister. Isha was grinning stupidly at her beautiful night. Nisha smiled to herself. Now she understood what was going on.

N: So…umm, Isha?
I: Hmm?
N: Eklavya is your friend right?
I: Huh? Ya - I mean, yes, he's just a friend! Well actually –

     Isha didn't know how to tell her sister that Eklavya was the man of her dreams not just a friend. She decided to backfire her sister's own plan on her.

I: So…Manthan's your friend right, di?
N: Kya?
I: Manthan?
N: I never said I liked him – we're just –
I: Di?
N: Huh?
I: I never said you liked him, I asked if he's your friend?
N: Oh yes…
I: So it's more than friendship now eh?
N: Isha! It's past midnight, let's got to sleep!

     Nisha went into the bathroom and changed into her pajamas. When she opened the door, she found Isha grinning widely at her.

I: Nisha and Manthan sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I

     Nisha grabbed a pillow and threw it at Isha.

N: Very mature, Isha! Let's go to sleep, it's late
I: Don't change the topic, di!
N: I'm not! It is late! It's 1:30 in the morning!
I: Aur aap Manthan ke saath abb tak kya kar rahi thi?
N: Hum – Ek minute! Isha, what were YOU doing with Eklavya all this time?
I: Main? Woh – No, di, you're changing the topic again!
N: Isha!

     Isha got up and stared at her ring.

N: Isha! Is that a ring?! Yeh tumhe –

     Nisha gasped as if just realizing something.

N: You mean – Eklavya proposed to you?
I: Umm…yea

     Isha went completely pink. Suddenly she became very interested looking at the floor.

N: Kaise!? Isha! Humhe ab baatha rahi ho?!

     Isha sighed and sat down on the bed. Se told her sister the whole story and when she was done, she found Nisha in tears.

N: My sister got proposed to!
I: Di!
N: Oh gosh, that means you're going to get married and go…
I: Di! Ok, yeh rona dhona band karo aur tell me about Manthan

     Nisha recited her perfect night with Manthan and how he had saved her.

I: So I was right! Nisha and Manthan sitting in a tree!
N: Isha!
I: K-I-S-S-I-N-G!
N: Isha, I'm serious! Go to sleep now!
I: First comes love! Then comes marriage! Then-

     Nisha took a pillow and whacked her sister with it. Isha took one and whacked her sister back. After a big pillow fight they bot fell on their bed, laughing, tired from the long day.

I: Di?
N: Yeah?
I: Is Eklavya ok?
N: What you mean ok?
I: I mean, do you think he's the right boy for me?
N: I think he's prefect for you! You both are total opposites of each other and whatever kami you have in you, he fills it up. And whatever kami he has in him, you fill it up.
I: Well, in that case, Manthan's perfect for you too.
N: Woh kaise?
I: Well, he's totally opposite from you and he's a cool dude! You never know some of his coolness might rub off on you!
N: Isha!
I: Joking di!

              They sat in silence for a while and finally decided to go to sleep.

N: Good night, Isha
I: 'Night, di
