The second part of this chapter is quite emotional, and I'm not sure how or why I wrote it, I don't even know if it's necessary... but I do hope you guys enjoy it!

Chapter 13:

Teri Yaad – Adnan Sami [I had a request to have songs… this song actually suits the mood later on in the story, but you might as well start listening to it now!]

"They're of no use in the case… they are from a different gang Raj." Nandini said. Gopal Bhatt and Nitin Rai were now in the interrogation room together, with Rajveer, Nandini and Colonel Shakti behind the glass mirror wall, watching them. The charges against Rajveer were still not cleared, but Colonel Shakti pulled some strings to have him work in this case with Nandini.

*Flashback*
… Army Officials demanding to arrest Captain Rajveer…
… Colonel Shakti recollecting the events of the day and speaking to his superiors…
… Orders for the cadets to head back to KMA; them leaving with Orni as well…
… Rajveer receiving permission to work on the case for three more days; till his trial…
*End of Flashback*

"She's right Raj. It's just a coincident. They were from a different gang, trying to blackmail me probably for money by kidnapping my nephew…" Colonel left off seeing Gopal and Nitin whispering amongst each other. He signed for the operator recording the audio and video of the interrogation room to increase the volume.

"- I supposed to know?!" They heard Gopal mutter helplessly.

"Well they were right beside CSC's table you dim-wit! Plus, X already informed you about them being in Simla!" Nitin whispered angrily.

"Shh! Don't say these things here!" Gopal warned his partner, looking around.

"X…" Rajveer said to himself. He looked at his superior. "This is no coincident, Sir. This 'X' is the boss of the group who trapped Naveen and me… Sir! I'm sure a bit more interrogation will surely get some information out; they aren't in high positions of the team like Nair and Bhargav!" Colonel considered this and nodded. Rajveer was heading to the interrogation room when Nandini put a hand on his arm. He wasn't allowed to interact with the suspects. He sighed and let her go inside instead.

The day was not in his favor… giving him hope and taking away any chances he could take; e.g. giving him clues for his mission, but stopping him from getting to the boss… and now showing him light to his and Naina's relationship, but taking her away from him before he could make a move!

Oh Naina… he missed glancing at her beautiful form from time to time; he had done it so many times in the past few days that it had become a routine. They hadn't even gotten a chance to say goodbye properly! He forced his mind back to the present; he had to focus on this first, if he wanted a certain young girl on her way to KMA thinking about him in his life!

Near Ambala: Aalekh, Yudi, Ali, Pooja, Naina & Orni

"Anyone feeling as disappointed as I am?" Yudi asked.

"Oye Drama King, you're supposed to feel happy that Rajveer Sir's case is getting stronger. They even let him stay outside bars and work on the case!" Aalekh commented from beside him. He had surprisingly turned out to be a very smooth driver, even with his rough personality.

"Naina, what do you think?" Pooja asked. She was a bit worried about her friend since they left the Simla headquarters. She had been unusually quiet, simply looking outside at the road without taking part in any conversations. Hearing her name, she looked up at Pooja.

"Er… Naina, you OK?" Yudi asked.

"She's fine… she's just worried about R-" this time Pooja had to nudge Orni. Suddenly there was an ear-splitting sound of a thunder. Ali hurriedly started to put on the hood for the back of the open jeep, and Pooja got up to help. Due to the jeep turning though, she fell against him, both blushing.

Naina smiled sensing the love between her friends. A drop of rain fell on her cheek before the sky was blocked from her view. The smile on her face vanished. She was feeling incredibly lonely; like an empty shell.

Emotions are contagious, which is probably why unexplained sorrow loomed over the occupants of the jeep soon; with the exception of one. Orni was sitting at one edge of the jeep, so she put her petite hand out, fascinated by the drops of water immediately coating it. Naina was sitting opposite to her. Seeing the innocence in Orni's eyes, she felt a tug at her heart. She had had that purity too; but had lost it after her brother's death. Then, when Rajveer had given her the feeling of being pure and untouched by life again, fate separated them before they were even together.

Ali and Pooja sat holding hands behind Yudi and Aalekh, thinking back to difficult times, e.g. their relationship before marriage. Rajveer had given them a structure when they were completely lost; an outline of a path for them to reach their goals. They wondered if they would ever be able to repay him, but knew they wouldn't stop trying.

Yudi looked out the window, now the sky becoming quite dark even though it was still late noon. It was as if the darkness was trying to remind him of everything he considered dark in his life. The darkest moment, truly, had been when he had tried to commit suicide. He shivered unknowingly even thinking about it.

How could he have wanted to leave such wonderful people behind? He would've been completely alone in the afterlife without them! His family, friends, teachers… he promised himself right at that moment never to hurt them, knowing hurting himself would do exactly that. Now he realized what Rajveer had tried to show him that day; he was needed, wanted, in people's lives. He wouldn't let his teacher down.

Aalekh sensed the dense emotions in all of their hearts, and couldn't take it. He had gone through various types of pain, but knowing his friends were in even a little sorrow was not tolerable to him.

"Hey… we're stopping for a few minutes… I need to get something from that shop." He said stooping the jeep. Yudi looked out and was confused.

"But chief, that's a ladies' shop! Why – oh… for Neelu? I'll come with you too then…" both got out of the jeep and ran to the shop. Pooja understood what was going on, and nudged Ali, nodding her head to the direction of the shop. He got the message and got out too, signing to Orni with his eyes to get out with him. Soon, Pooja and Naina were alone. Pooja came over and sat beside her best friend, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"You need to talk about it Naina, you can't bottle everything up all the time!" she said softly. Naina looked up at her with tears in her eyes. She rested her head on Pooja's shoulder and started sobbing. The loneliness poured out of her heart, wrenching Pooja's heart. Naina shouldn't have to feel so lonely when they were there for her! She would never be able to share or understand what she was going through, but she would stand by her at all times without hesitation, as would the rest of her friends.

Oh, and from now on, I won't be posting chapters in colours.
