Chapter 19

"Armaan, I saw you there in the party and I knew that I wasn't over you but then I saw your father and I realised that whatever we may do, he won't accept me into the family especially after what all has happened. I should have moved on with Shaurya but you know what I couldn't because I love you and I know you would find a way. By choosing Shaurya, I would have been unfair to all of us. I love you Armaan , I love you so much"

Shaurya saw everything from afar. He heard everything and it would be an understatement to say he wasn't broken. He went inside and sat down infront of the bar counter, he was drinking when Archie came and sat near him. She just touched his hand and he started talking about how past 4-5 months of his life. How everything changed for him. He took her through his ride of the last 4-5 months of his life.

"It started off really normal, I never knew I was going to fall in love. For a very good part of this whole time I kept referring to her just as a mere friend. But I was bluffing. You know I can't really bluff with myself and that was the time that I realised that I love her. When I couldn't meet her before going to Mumbai, I was restless but that wasn't full fledged love. It was never love at first sight. Yes it is true that when I first saw her I felt a connection but from that connection to love, we had travelled a long road. I was there by her side at every important turn in her life in these months. She left her wheel chair, got back on her feet, fixed my temper and ego issues while I kept her rooted for her aim... did you know we would talk on the phone for hours at a stretch. We would even video chat. It easy as if it was all one sided. Even she was happy in my company. She...just...I don't know..."

Archie was consoling him. He just got up with a bottle of the most expensive liquor in his hand and went off saying that" they weren't a thing anymore and Mehak didn't live him." His friends tried to help him and were tensed for him but he didn't talk to anyone and just kept walking off. Karuna tried to Console him but it wasn't of any use. 

It was finally Harish whose hug brought him out of his reverie and he sobbed for his love which was not his anymore. His parents walked him to the car and they left for their home. Vicky , Randhir and Ajay waited till the party wrapped up completely and left.

He was really drunk and slept on the bed as soon as Harish brought him to his room. The parents too were obviously stressed and sad after seeing their son loose in the realm of love once more. They went to their own room leaving his sleeping form alone to rest and come out if it all.

On the other hand the Bhallas were very angry at Mehak for falling again for that idiot who was inhuman enough to ditch her when she needed him the most. Kanta was also tensed because Mehak was, according to her, emotionally vulnerable and was a with a boy who couldn't be trusted et al given his previous record. She was also scared if they get to another level after their little escape.

Kanta never understood what had gotten into Mehak to deny Shaurya's proposal when even she was clearly head over heels in love with Shaurya and she had the hint of love in her eyes everytime she saw Shaurya or even there was slightest mention of him. Kanta has seen it herself and was even sure of the blush and love she saw on Mehak's face when Shaurya asked her to be his date for the party.

She was really worked up whereas Jeevan and Nehal were pure angry. Aman was taking the responsibility of calming all but even he was doubtful of Mehak's action as he remembers overhearing Mehak, when she was rehearsing her confession of "more than friendship" for Shaurya.

On the other side Armaan and Mehak, oblivious of everything were on the side of their favourite place in the outskirts of the city. They were walking hand in hand. Mehak's phone buzzed for the n'th time. She had numerous missed calls from Nehal, Kanta, Jeevan, Aman and even Vicky. She switched off her phone She was avoiding the calls knowingly because she very well knew they won't understand and she was in no position to explain.

On the other hand, Armaan too was avoiding the calls from Shruti who was also present in the party from where he and Mehak went together. His parents messaged him something too but he didn't check. He was living in the moment with her.

Mehak wasn't happy doing what she was but she had no option but Armaan was on cloud nine. He ignored the phone ringing in his pocket and initiated a kiss, for sometime Mehak didn't respond but then she eventually had to because there was something major that was behind turning down Shaurya's proposal and going off with Armaan.
