He slept by his son in the living room

She slept inside

The next morning everyone was late

The bedroom was a mess because of the Sahasre boys

Mendy showed up early morning to congratulate them and have breakfast

Dhru did not want to go to school, Atty had to bribe him with a road trip on Saturday

Mendy gave her a tight hug when she got out of the shower “Good man haan?” he nodded choking up a bit

“I feel selfish”

“Abhi tu 33 mein selfish nahi hoyega kya?”

“I think addressing this with his parents is going to be a challenge”

“It will be OK, U guys live in Mumbai they live in Bangalore they will ultimately be happy only that he married the mother of his child”

She brushed and tied her hair talking to him

Aatreya was taking a work call in the living room

“Sit.. batata hoon tujhe” Mendy sat her down

“You cannot constantly worry about the whole world OK?”

“I am not… they are his parents” she pulled out her uniform saree and blouse and sat down on the bottom bunk of her bed

“They are very conservative… they are very strict to everyone… mere ko bhi kaafi strict hai who log”

“He doesn’t have their buy in… I told him, its OK if we don’t get married”

“That’s the stupidest thing Ive heard” he growled

“We haven’t told Dhru”

“Atty to bol raha hai mere ku you are moving in with him”

Mrunalini turned a self conscious red

“Oh? Umm.. we haven’t talked about it”

“Jaldi karo shaadi man”

“Its not that easy… we don’t want to tell Dhru before his parents approve”

“If they never approve, u cannot keep the child in limbo”

“Its not like that” she put her head on her arms, and pulled her knees up “I don’t have a good family… he has a great family”

“You two are thinking about everything but yourself”

“No I am only thinking about myself” she waved her fingers from her left hand back and forth

“I wore the ring” she mumbled

“Lynn ko mat show karna haa?” he laughed nervously

“Oh God!! There was Lynn” she thought terrified

“I am in therapy… his parents don’t know that”

“They don’t have to”

“What if I have appointments”

“Kaam mein late ho gaya bolne ka”

She shook her head slowly

“Start a marriage on lies?” she looked shocked

“Abhi dekh tu… u cannot please everybody… pleasing uncle aunty…. (swallowing) Lynn… Lynn to chhod she doesn’t need to be pleased… it’s a waste of time”

“She doesn’t like me”

“Tu black contact laga… she is jealous of ur eyes”

Mrunalini laughed

“Atty hates my contacts” “I told him last night how I used to wear them to the office” I wore it even”

Mendy smiled, Mrunalini’s statement conveyed her acceptance of Atty’s likes and dislikes

Atty had finished his work call and was talking to his parents

FT revealed his location and they were furious he was at Mrunalini’s so early in the day

He told them she had accepted his proposal

They in turn lashed back and told him “We will not accept her”
