Acceptance

It was 8:00 in the morning and Adi was stressed about the day. It was Saturday which meant he could have slept for long, but he couldn't. He started doing all the chores like cleaning, mopping, cooking etc. Rehaan woke up because of the disturbances which were caused by Adi's marathon spree. He sat on his bed and smacked his own head giving a disbelief nod. He came out of the room and saw Adi engrossed in his work. He stood in a corner smiling 

"Adi what are you doing?" He asked patiently.

"What do you think I am doing Rehaan?" Adi fired back at him. At which Rehaan just kept quiet. Adi realised that he was freaking out and hence he stopped what he was doing. 

"Rehaan your mom is going to come. This is a big deal, as she doesn't know anything about you nor us. Are you sure you want to do this?" He asked looking at Rehaan. 

Rehaan walked up to him and gently massaged his shoulder "I am damn sure Adi! Someday she got to know right, about me and about us" he reasoned. 

Adi nodded his head in understanding. Rehaan smiled at him "By the way you look cute when stressed" saying so he pecked Adi's lips. 

"Okay go now! Let me finish everything." Adi pushed him out of the area and started again. Rehaan admired him and was about to walk back to the room when Adi called him back "Rehaan please get ready. And tide up our room. Please!" 

Rehaan smirked "Okay only when you will give me what I want." Adi baffled at his words and glared at him "Rehaan do what I say." He ordered. 

"First agree to the terms and conditions." Rehaan chuckled. "Let's see. Now leave!" Adi sternly orders. Rehaan left not without passing on a flying kiss. Adi smiled at Rehaan's behaviour.

He loves him a lot. That's it! 

After all the chores were done Adi goes to freshen up when he hears a knock on the door. He knew it was Rehaan's mother and Rehaan welcomed her with a warm hug and lots of love. She also saw him after a long time, and that too face to face so she tended to get emotional. 

"Maa you please sit. I will get coffee for you." saying so Rehaan went to the kitchen. He started searching for all the ingredients but since it was always Adi who made food, he had no clue "Adi yaar.." 

"Haan bol" Adi came out and directly went to the kichen. "Coffee powder??" Rehaan pouted in confusion. Adi smiled at him "You go and sit with aunty. Talk to her. I will get it." 

Rehaan became happy "I lov.." but Adi cut him off "She doesn't know yet Rehaan. Let's tell her first." he instructed. 

Rehaan and mom have a good talk when Adi came with the tray. Rehaan's mom looked at him and with a very warm smile "Adi! How are you?" 

"I am fine aunty! How are you?" Adi nervously asked. 

"I am fine. So tell me, how is your work going?" She continued to ask. 

"Its going good aunty. Future looks promising." he stated. All chit chat for a while when Rehaan thinks of breaking the ice. 

"Mom I have something to tell!" Rehaan looked at her and then at Adi. Adi gulped in nervousness. "Yeah Adi tell." Mom asked concerned. 

"It's that.." Rehaan was about to tell when Adi cut him off out of nervousness "Aunty he has started thinking about quitting his job. So he wanted to ask if that is fine with you." Adi covers. 

Rehaan looked at him shocked. They both were ready to come out as a couple but Adi just brushed everything inside the carpet again. "Is it fine with me? Of course it is. You can do whatever you want." Mom stated with positive reaction. 

"Yes mom!" Rehaan answered seriously. He was angry at Adi for his behaviour. He walked off to their bedroom. Adi looked at him going. 

"What happened?" asked the mom. 

"I don't know aunty." Adi said with a nervous chuckle. 

"You know it's so good to know that Rehaan has someone here who cares for him and looks after him. I remember he told me that you took care of him when he was sick. I must say Rehaan has made some good friends here." She said softly and Adi went silent. He was still Rehaan's best friend for the world including his mom. 

"Yess he is my best friend." Adi said with great difficulty. How was he supposed to explain her about them and their relationship. He takes a leave and goes to Rehaan who is still upset at Adi. 

"Rehaan where have you been?" Adi asked "And what's taking you so long?" Though he knew but still he pretended not to know. 

"Really. I am taking long? Come on. You are not ready to take it up also." Rehaan yelled at him. Adi asked him to lower his voice so that aunty doesn't hear. 

"Don't shush me Adi. You know how long it has taken for me to come out whereas you have already done it. And when I want to make Us official you are taking a step back?" Rehaan spoke facts. 

"Yes Rehaan because after coming out I have no one from my side supporting me. They have disowned me and I know how it feels. It feels like your whole childhood was a lie where you believed your family loves you." Adi got teary and his voice cracked. Rehaan engulfed him in a hug and placed a kiss on his temple. 

Adi wiped his tears "I don't want you to go through the same Rehaan. Try and understand love." saying so he placed a kiss on Rehaan's forehead. 

"Okay I will come out only when you feel right." Rehaan assured Adi and they both smiled at each other for a while when Rehaan spoke "Don't look at me like this or else I won't go out and neither let you." Rehaan smirked while Adi flushed at his statement. Adi rushed out and Rehaan behind him with a chuckle. 

They both come out and see Adi's mom reading a magazine. "Hey you both. Matter sorted?" she asked. 

"Yeah mom. Actually I got a bit upset as Adi stole my thunder." Rehaan said with a light chuckle. His mom looked at both of them and smiled. 

"Aunty will you have lunch. I have prepared the traditional lunch." Adi gets up from his place. "Aree no no beta. Not now." She answered and Adi sat back on the chair. She turned to Rehaan

"I was remembering your dad Rehaan when you spoke about quitting your job." Rehaan looked at his mom "And?" He questioned softly. 

"He used to say whatever my son wants to do and whatever he wants to be, as a father I am always there for him. And now since he is not there, I am here." Rehaan gave a wide smile to his mom and then turned to Adi. Adi also smiled at her words. 

"So whatever gives you happiness, do that and whoever gives you happiness, hold onto them tight." she continued and both the boys flustered at this. 

"Mom?" Rehaan asked and Adi was not able to look up. He was scared not for him but for his love. 

"What? You both scream so much. God knows how these apartment people tolerate you two." She joked and Rehaan looks at her relieved. Adi is still not able to and hence aunty breaks the ice "Adi you said you prepared traditional lunch. Have you planned to serve us yet?" She joked so that he becomes more comfortable. 

"Yes aunty! I am sorry!" He got up in a haste.

"You should be sorry." she said as Rehaan got shocked and Adi scared. 

"For calling me aunty!" she continued. "Call me mom!" She ordered and Adi had tears in his eyes. She walked up to him and placed a kiss on his forehead "I am here!" She assured and engulfed him in a hug. Seeing this emotional moment Rehaan too jumped in.
