'YRKKH was NEVER no.1 during Harshad Chopda-Pranali..': Rajan Shahi says actor wanted to work in 'NO 1' show

Star Plus' super hit show Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been a constant on the TRP charts even after all these years of its run. All the pairings throughout the course of the show have received immense love, however, Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod's pairing on the show went ahead to break all records.

In a recent conversation with Siddharth Kanan, Rajan Shahi, the producer of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai spoke about the actor's stint on the show and revealed that Harshad had once 'called him,' and had expressed his desire of working on a 'number one show.'

Speaking to Kanan, producer Rajan Shahi reveals, ''Harshad bahut hi intense tha, woh ghus jata tha character mein, bahut kamaal and he would live that. He is a great guy and Bidaai ke time se he would keep on calling me. Wahi mujhe bola ke sir maine kitne saal wait kiya aap ke sath kaam kar ne ke liye.''

Further revealing the actor's 'exact words,' Rajan Shahi says, ''Harshad ki mujhe yahi lines thi jab wo mujhe mila, 'Sir main bidaai se aapke peeche pada hoon aur mujhe aap ke sath kaam karna tha. Sir meri life mein kabhi number one show nahi aaya, mujhe ek number one show mein kaam kar na hai. Maine hit shows diye hai, cult shows hai but number one koi nahi bana.' But the sad part was, throughout the tenure of Harshad and Pranali, we were never number one.''

''The minute we started recently, after one and a half year, with Rohit Purohit, we bounced back to being number one. Wo (Harshad Chopda) number 2, number three bichara aate aate, (sighs) but a great guy, unit ke liye khana manga raha hai, patties manga raha hai, but yes, we did have creative differences,'' the producer then confirms.
