Who will replace Shipla Shinde as Soni??

The buzz about Shilpa Shinde, Soni of Zee’s Maayka leaving the show has been going around since long. If sources are to be believed, Garima Bhatnagar of Veeranvali fame and Akangsha Rawat who was earlier seen in Solhah Singaar and Waaris, have been approached for the role.

“After the show on 9X went off air, Garima was in search of new projects. Creative Eye had assured her of a project, and she has now been approached to play Soni”, says our source from the production house.

“Well there are few other names too in the pipeline, but Garima has been strongly recommended by the production house for the role”, adds our source.

We called up Garima for a confirmation on this, and she says, “The production house has recommended my name, but nothing has been finalized”.

However, Dheeraj Kumar of Creative Eye quips, “Shilpa is very much with us even now. We have no replacement for now.”

Another source though informed us that Akangsha Rawat of Waaris fame has also been short listed for the same role. “The channel has recommended Akangsha for the same, but till now we have not got any reply from the production team. She was sent few CD’s of the episodes to study the character of Soni”, adds our source.

We called up Akangsha, but she was unavailable for comments.

Lastly, according to our sources, “Shilpa had her last day of shoot yesterday, and she has bid farewell to the show. Durga finally takes the call and asks Soni to go away from Jeet’s life, and this is where Shilpa’s presence in the show ends”.

Now, the big question that still remains unanswered is – Who will fit into Shilpa’s shoes and play the character of Soni now?? Let's wait and watch...
