Vivek Agnihotri's film The Kashmir Files had created a buzz all over the country post its release. Following the success of The Kashmir Files, the cast and crew have reconciled for two more movies. Vivek Agnihotri, Abhishek Agarwal, and Pallavi Joshi will produce movies based on similar historical incidents that have been lost to time.
Taran Adarsh, a trade analyst, made the announcement on Twitter. He tweeted, "‘THE KASHMIR FILES’ TEAM REUNITES FOR TWO MORE FILMS. After the phenomenal success of #TheKashmirFiles, producers #AbhishekAgarwal, #VivekRanjanAgnihotri, and #PallaviJoshi reunite to produce two more films based on unreported stories from #Indian history." The video mentioned that these films will expose two viciously genuine stories from Indian history with spine-chilling truths.
The Kashmir Files earned more than Rs 250 crore at the box office, holding its own against SS Rajamouli's historical epic RRR, which dominated the box office. . It was the first Hindi film to do so in the midst of the pandemic.
The story revolves around the mass migration of Kashmiri Pandits from the hill country during the initial periods of the insurgency. Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi star in it.
Despite receiving mixed to negative reviews, the film did exceptionally well at the box office, owing mainly to positive word-of-mouth. Several states, including Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Goa, Tripura, and Uttarakhand, have declared The Kashmir Files tax-free. Several celebrities, including Hansal Mehta and Karan Johar, praised it and referred to it as a movement. Even Kangana Ranaut hailed the film and how the story was depicted by the director.
