Varun Dhawan reveals being diagnosed with 'Vestibular Hypofunction': I just shut down, pushed myself so hard

Varun Dhawan is currently gearing up for the release of his film Bhediya and has been out and about the city promoting it with his co-star Kriti Sanon. The trailer of the film has already created a buzz and now everyone is awaiting to watch it on the big screens. 

Varun has left no stone unturned to promote his film. During his recent appearance at an event, he opened up about battling vestibular hypofunction. The disorder affects the balance of an individual. He also spoke about pushing himself hard post the pandemic. Varun said that he was forced to take a break after he got diagnosed with the disorder.

Varun discussed about it at the India Today Conclave 2022 and stated,

"Recently, I just shut down. I didn’t know what had happened to me. I had this thing called vestibular hypofunction, (where) basically your balance goes off. But I just pushed myself so hard. We are just running in this race, nobody is asking why. I think there is a greater purpose (why) we are all here. I am trying to find mine, and hopefully, people will find theirs." 

For the unversed, Vestibular hypofunction is a condition where the inner ear portion of the balancing system malfunctions. To maintain balance, the vestibular system, which is located in the inner ear, collaborates with the eyes and muscles. When it's dysfunctional, the brain receives error messages, which might make someone feel dizzy.

On the professional front, After Bhediya which will be hitting the big screens on 25th November, 2022, Varun will be seen in the film 'Bawal'. Co-starring Janhvi Kapoor, the film is helmed by Nitesh Tiwari.
