The last two days have been all about the inauguration of Nita Mukesh Ambani Culture Centre (NMACC) and the fact that it was probably the biggest event one can imagine.
Assembling a gargantuan list of the biggest celebrities not just from Hindi entertainment industry but from Hollywood as well, it has been the talk-of-the-town consistently.
And just as one would expect, it also invited a lot of scrutiny and actor Varun Dhawan was in the midst of an unanticipated controversy.
During his performance, Dhawan went, who was performing with American model, Gigi Hadid went on to pick her up in his arms and even planted a kiss on her cheeks as the performance went on.
This was blown out of proportion on social media where netizens would go on to condemn Dhawan doing that and slamming him for his actions.
Dhawan is usually quiet on any controversies but this time, he went on to almost immediately address this ongoing saga. He took to Twitter to hit out at the backlash directed at him. His tweet read, "I guess today you woke up and decided to be woke. So lemme burst ur bubble and tell u it was planned for her to be on stage so find a new Twitter cause to vent about rather then going out and doing something about things . Good morning"-
The actor was also in central focus for the right reason where he shared the stage with megastar Shah Rukh Khan and Ranveer Singh for a performance at the same event.
On the workfront, Dhawan will be seen in the web series, Citadel opposite Samantha Ruth Prabhu on Amazon Prime Video.
