The wisest decision I made at the age of 24 was to become a mother: Sushmita Sen

For the past few months, Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe Sushmita Sen has been an active social media user. The actress keeps her followers entertained by posting every vivid detail of her life on her official social media handle. From sharing loving posts for her boyfriend Roman Shawl to posting videos and photos of their workouts and playful and fun times, which also includes here daughters Renee and Alisah, she is not only setting major #CoupleGoals but #MotherGoals as well. 

It's a well-known fact that the former Miss Universe adopted her elder daughter Renee in 2000 and younger daughter Alisah in 2010. The proud mother of two, recently, attended an event in Hyderabad where she openly shared her thoughts on adoption and her motivation behind adopting her two kids. 

She said, “In the natural birth, the mother and the child connect through the umbilical cord but in adoption, the mother and the child are connected by this higher power, a connection that you cannot cut off. I have had the privilege of experiencing it twice. To become a mother who has given birth from the heart. I have not missed a day of feeling the joy of motherhood.”

The 43-year-old actress further added, “The wisest decision I made at the age of 24 was to become a mother. It stabilised my life. People think it was a great act of charity and wonderful action but it was self-preservation. It was me protecting myself.”
