The ever-graceful Sushmita Sen made a stylish appearance at a fashion event in Mumbai last night. She attended the show with her daughters, Renee and Alisah, along with Rohman Shawl. Dressed in a pearl-white silk blouse and black high-waisted pants, she truly lived up to her tag as the OG fashionista. Her look was completed with statement jewellery that added extra charm to her outfit.
Sushmita wore a blouse that had notch lapel collars, a deep V-neckline, button details, and full sleeves with fitted cuffs. Her flared black pants matched the vibe and added a formal edge to the look. But apart from her fashion choice, it was her opinion on Fawad Khan’s Bollywood return that caught all the attention.
While interacting with InstantBollywood at the event, a reporter asked Sushmita about the controversy around Abir Gulal—a film that stars Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor. The movie’s teaser recently dropped online and has sparked political outrage in Maharashtra. Reacting to the same, Sushmita said, “Mujhe itna sab nahi pata, mujhe sirf yeh pata hai ki hunar aur creativity mein koi boundaries nahi hoti, aur honi bhi nahi chahiye.”
She further added, “Kyuki yahi ek cheez hai, ek sports hai aur ek hamari creative field hai jaha par our creativity is born from freedom. So I wish that for everyone. There is no sarhad for that.”

MNS leader Ameya Khopkar has strictly opposed the film’s release in Maharashtra due to Fawad Khan being Pakistani. He said, “Under no circumstances will we permit such films to be released in the state.”
Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Nirupam also voiced concerns, stating that Indian audiences don’t generally support Pakistani films and that Abir Gulal might not find a place in cinemas.Despite all this, Abir Gulal is scheduled for release on May 9, 2025. Whether the film will actually hit theatres in India or not—only time will tell.
