As Zee Next’s Jhoome Jiya Re kicks pace, Priti Amin cannot stop gushing about her character, Jiya, and the roller coaster of events happening in the Show. Priti talks to the Telly Buzz team about the latest track in the serial, along with her journey from being a 'nobody' to the latest addition to the face of Indian Entertainment.

Jiya is shown as a very naïve girl, but according to her family, she’s partially good for nothing. She is referred as Dabu, by everyone. Jiya has just joined a Dance Academy as a secretary and her father doesn’t know about it. She is trying to help out her family financially, and tries to get her father his job back. And now there’s a major twist coming up, where Jiya’s father’s senior puts up a condition that if Jiya marries his son, he’ll get his job back. And what Jiya decides to do, is something to look out for…
Do Priti and Jiya relate at all?
Yes, to a certain extent they do. In my family, everyone used to doubt my ambitions, since I wasn’t sure of what I wanted to do. I was quite naïve as well. But then one dayd I decided to be an actress, and just went for it and now I am a part of this industry.
Do you have any dancing background as well?
Yes, I’ve been a trained classical dancer from childhood. I was very much interested in dancing.
When will Jiya’s childish image break free?
From the beginning, the girl was shown completely dumbo, but after she moves out we have changed her image to a little extent, though not completely. I can say that Jiya is now keeping baby steps. Her appearance has begun to change, and slowly Jiya is developing the confidence to face the world.
Will there be a drastic revolution as the same as Jassi?
I think the only thing permanent in this world is 'Change'. So
change is bound to happen, but in what sense I don't know that. Changes do happen in every show, isn't it?
