Indian actor Kuldeep Sareen, who is set to feature in the highly anticipated *Chhorii 2* on Amazon Prime, believes that the horror genre in Indian cinema is experiencing a significant resurgence. The sequel promises to push the boundaries of supernatural horror, fear, and suspense, with a gripping narrative centered around a mother’s battle against both paranormal forces and societal evils. Directed by Vishal Furia, *Chhorii 2* also stars Nushrratt Bharuccha and Soha Ali Khan in pivotal roles.
Sareen, known for his versatility in films, television, and web series, has had a long and varied career that has seen him work in some of the most iconic projects in Indian entertainment. Born in Gwalior, his journey to stardom was shaped by his early days in theater and his persistence in the Mumbai film industry, which led to memorable roles in films like Don, Talaash, and Saand Ki Aankh. His more recent work in TVF'S Guri Aur Dhairya ki Love story, the second season of the Emmy-winning web series Delhi Crime and A Suitable Boy cemented his reputation as a talented performer in the digital space.
Now, with Chhori 2, Kuldeep is stepping into the role of an antagonist, a character he describes as being integral to the suspense and fear the film seeks to evoke.
In an exclusive interview, Kuldeep reflected on the evolution of horror films in India, noting, "I think the horror genre is getting revived in the Indian entertainment industry in the last few years. I’m sure that Chhorii 2 will change the dynamics of the horror genre in Indian cinema and pave the way for futuristic cinema. I remember while I was growing up, Ramsay films were the ones we used to watch, and those memories are still deeply embedded in my mind. After so long, I feel something is coming that is not just about jump scares."
