As reported earlier, soon after the demise of Veeru Devgan (Ajay Devgn's dad and Kajol's father-in-law and celebrated action director), Kajol's mother and veteran actress Tanuja had to be rushed to Mumbai's Lilavati hospital after she complained of severe abdominal pain. Later, she was diagnosed with diverticulitis and had to be operated. On May 29, 2019, Tanuja underwent an operation for her severe ailment.

Soon after the news broke out, fans and near ones of the veteran and Kajol started pouring in their prayers and wishes for Tanuja. Updating on her mom's health and expressing gratitude towards everyone who were there during their tough times, Kajol has shared a happy picture of her mom from the hospital and thanked everyone. In the picture, Tanuja looks weak but her beautiful smile reflects that's she fighting it hard and is on a road to recovery.

Kajol wrote alongside, "This is just a great big THANK YOU to everyone who has called and prayed and thought of us. This smile that you see is of sheer gratitude."
