Tanishaa: "Kajol hasn't seen 'Neal 'n' Nikki' to date due to the kissing; Uday and I were dating that time"

Actor Tanishaa Mukerji did not quite have the career at the movies she would have loved to, but even then, she is remembered for a few roles that include the likes of Sarkar and Neal n Nikki. Especially with the latter, the film created headlines almost instantly back then and upon the release of the trailer and then the film, it became a conversation topic owing to the extremely bold content and innumerable kissing scenes. The ones belonging to those times would even remember how people would talk about the kiss count in the film and it is a huge deal.

And when it comes to Mukerji, she even revealed recently that her sister and veteran, Kajol, hasn't seen the film to date because there is too much kissing on-screen. Talking to Siddharth Kannan, Mukerji said, “It was too much kissing on-screen. My sister (Kajol) has not watched the film till today. Even I tell my friend’s kids to watch it after growing up a little bit. That conservativeness exists in our country.”

She did mention that if the film were offered to her today, she would do it differently. “If today Neil N Nikki would have come to me, I would have offered to play the character differently because you are influencing young minds. At that time, I didn’t get involved in it enough," she added.

When asked what it was like to kiss on-screen, Mukerji said, “I was comfortable because Uday and I knew each other. We started dating during the shoot of the film, so it was like I was doing it with my boyfriend, so it became easy.”

For the uninitiated, Chopra and Mukerji first met on the sets of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, and after a long time, they began dating each other. The duo dated each other for two years but broke up following that. They continue to be friends even today.

Currently, Mukerji is a participant in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11.
