Sushant Singh Rajput Suicide

Sushant Singh Rajput died an untimely death by hanging himself from the ceiling fan of his residence in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14, 2020. The police had sent his body to Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital in Mumbai for post-mortem on Sunday.

The Cooper Hospital has released an advance certificate on Monday after conducting post-mortem on Sushant and cited asphyxia due to hanging as the cause of his death in the report. The autopsy report has said prima facie it has been found that it is a case of suicide. His viscera samples have been preserved for chemical analysis and will be sent to the forensic science laboratory.

After the first autopsy, the doctors at Cooper Hospital have now sent Sushant's organs to JJ Hospital for analysis to check any poisonous substance in the organs.

As per initial reports from the police, Sushant was suffering from depression for the past six months.

Sushant's family members arrived in Mumbai on Sunday night from Patna for his funeral today. The reason behind Sushant's apparent suicide is not clear as no note was recovered from his residence.

Police, however, recovered some items including his medical records for investigation.

Sushant's death has left India in an utter state of shock as celebrities, politicians, as well as sportspersons, mourned his loss on social media.
