Actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s drugs case has yet again taken a sharp turn as the Narcotics Control Bureau on Friday arrested Sushant Singh Rajput’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani.

Pithani was amongst the four people who were present at the late actor’s home in Mumbai when he was found hanging in his room on June 14.

He was questioned multiple times by the Mumbai police and the CBI in connection with the death that captivated the nation, triggered many conspiracy theories and led to a big divide in the Mumbai film industry.

In fact, he was quizzed by the CBI for several days in a row in September 2020. Earlier, Pithani had shared the late actor’s last moments and he was grilled by various agencies for narrating his version.

Siddharth Pithani was an IT professional and was reportedly nicknamed "Buddha" by Sushant Rajput, who had been living with him for about a year before his death. His allegations fed media frenzy and speculation in the days and weeks after the actor's shocking death.

Apart from that Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, were also charged in the drugs case that emerged as part of the investigations into Sushant Rajput's death.

The Narcotics Control Bureau stepped into the case after Rhea Chakraborty's phone revealed WhatsApp chats involving the buying of drugs for the actor. This stirred a whirlwind of accusations and inquiry, allegedly forming a wider inquiry into the link between Bollywood and drugs. Many A-list actors and celebrities were also questioned.
