STAR Parivaar Awards 2009 - A Glance

The refreshed new line-up on shows on STAR Plus with their young and talented stars are ready to take on the centre stage and be recognized for their work at the biggest television extravaganza on Indian television - the seventh STAR Parivaar Awards 2009. Catch the new faces of STAR Plus who have made it big with their exceptional acting skills, strong connect with the audiences and of course their charming looks as they walk the Red Carpet on June 13th 2009 from 7:30 pm onwards. Viewers will be in for a visual treat as their favorite stars present some enthralling performances from 8.00pm onwards, exclusively only on STAR Plus.

Welcoming the stars on the red carpet were the much in love couple Mohit Mallik and Additie Shirwaker. Looking their best in exquisite Indian attire and creating the hype even before the award function begun, the couple got artists to share their enthusiasm on who they would predict as winners! Creating an ambience of a magnificent Anand Mela, complete with dancers, food stalls with the best of Indian cuisine, fire walkers etc, the invitees were surely in for a surprise! 

The stage is set, the guests are in and the awards are ready to be presented! The gala event began with the two most popular faces on television, the very talented on-screen sisters from Bidaai–Sadhana (Sara Khan) and Ragini (Parul Chauhan). Though first time hosts, they held the audiences attention with their innocence and childlike enthusiasm of being on the STAR Parivaar platform. They cheered the most whenever their names were announced as nominees. 

The opening act had some popular families from STAR Parivaar dancing on the title track of the respective shows i.e. Bidaai, YRKKH, Hamari Devrani, Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat, Kis Des Mein Hai Mera Dil and Mitwaa... Phool Kamal Ke. That was just the beginning - keeping to the current election scenario in the country, the members of STAR Parivaar enacted the political scenario on the song, 'Emotional Attyachaar'! Spoofing on Manmohan Singh, Sonia Gandhi to Lalu Prasad Yadav, Varun Gandhi, the act promises to keep everyone in splits. 

Up next is the performance on the melodious number Hum Hain Rahi Pyaar Ke, by the debutants Shaurya (Saurabh Pandey) and Suhani (Sriti Jha) who relived the era of 60's, while the lovely on-screen pair Prem (Harshad Chopda) and Heer (Aditi Gupta) matched the dance steps of 70's and our cute little Bebo (Shivshakti) with her on screen sweetheart Amrit (Anuj Sachdev) had the audience engrossed enacting the moves of Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore. Adding to the fun were Birju (Mohit) & Bela (Tanvi's) of Mitwaa...Phool Kamal Ke as they performed in the true style of Rishi Kapoor & Neetu Singh.

Apart from the stupendous performances, all the young & talented set of actors like Akshara, Naitik, Bebo etc... were vying for the crystal trophy. Who takes the trophy? Who would be the winners in the best bahu, bhai & patni categories?
