SSR case: Rhea Chakraborty received multiple deliveries of ganja as per NCB draft charges

Details of the preliminary charges, which were submitted by the Central Anti-Drug Agency against 35 defendants associated with the Sushant Singh Rajput drug case before the Special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Court last month, were made public on Tuesday.

Actress Rhea Chakraborty allegedly received multiple deliveries of ganja from the coaccused, including her brother Showik, and these were then given to actor Sushant Singh Rajput, according to the draught charges submitted by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in the drug case associated with the actor's death.

The drafted allegations state that between March 2020 and December of that same year, all of the defendants engaged in criminal conspiracy to obtain, buy, sell, and distribute drugs to "high society and Bollywood." It further claimed that the accused had supported drug trafficking and used cocaine, ganja, charas, and other illegal drugs in the Mumbai Metropolitan area without a legitimate prescription or authorization.

According to the draught allegations, "Rhea Chakroborty received many ganja deliveries from defendants Samuel Miranda, Showik, Dipesh Sawant, and others and forwarded those deliveries to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput." Between March 2020 and September of that same year, she made payments for such supplies at the request of Showik and the late actor, it continued.

The drafted indictments state that Showik, Rhea's brother, had frequent contact with drug dealers and had received numerous deliveries from co-accused. These shipments were given to Rajput. Draft charges are filed, setting the stage for charge formulation and the start of the trial. However, the court must first rule on the accused's discharge pleas.
