SSMB29: Reports of John Abraham replacing Prithviraj Sukumaran in Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra movie UNTRUE?

SSMB29 is the movie that is making maximum news in India. Priyanka Chopra is back in Indian cinema with SS Rajamouli’s Indian Jones style action cum thriller that has Mahesh Babu in the lead role. It seems the shoot is now on at locations in Hyderabad like Ramoji Film City and Aluminium Factory. Then, they will leave for a 15 day shoot in Europe. SS Rajamouli has taken bulk dates from the actress. In the middle of all this, reports suggested that John Abraham has replaced Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran as the main villain of the movie. John and PC have done films together Dostana being the most famous one.

As news spread that John Abraham is replacing Prithvi who opted out of the project due to some reasons spread like wildfire, here is a new development. A source has claimed that Prithviraj Sukumaran is indeed a part of the film. However, he is tied up with multiple projects. The actor will start his shoot in March 2025. He has allotted over 100 days to the film. Since SSMB29 is going to be a Pan-India movie, it makes sense to have a big star from the Malayalam film industry.

John Abraham might be in the movie in a different capacity. SS Rajamouli and his father have been working on the script since lockdown days. They wanted to make a spy adventure in the jungles of Africa. The character of Mahesh Babu is said to be on the lines of Lord Hanuman who has to save mankind from an extreme threat.

There were plans to shoot in Latin America as well. Sources also hinted that more Asian actors might join the team as SS Rajamouli wants the movie to make waves globally. RRR was quite a cultural phenomenon and he wants to up the craze for desi films.
