The Bombay High Court on Thursday rejected Sonu Sood’s application challenging a notice sent by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) against him for allegedly converting a six-storey residential building, named Shakti Sagar, on Juhu’s AB Nair Road into a hotel; without receiving permission from the civic body.

The HC dismissed Sood’s application submitted by lawyer Amogh Singh who sought a time of 10 weeks since ‘last October’ to comply with the directions of the notice. He had also requested the court to direct the BMC against initiating any demolition.

The civil court has instructed Singh to ask his client - Sonu Sood to approach the BMC regarding demolition action. “Law helps only those who are diligent. The ball is now in the office of the BMC...you may approach them,” said Justice Prithviraj Chavan, while dismissing Sood’s appeal and application. He continued, “You are too late. You had ample opportunity,” said Justice Chavan who was quoted by PTI.

Earlier this month, Sood approached the high court challenging an order of a city court that had dismissed his suit against the BMC's notice.
