Sobhita reveals how Chay performed a special gesture to propose to her

Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala have been happily married for over three months, having exchanged vows on December 4 of last year. In a recent exclusive interview with Vogue India, they opened up about their relationship, sharing some delightful insights. One highlight was Sobhita's charming recount of Chay's proposal, where he went down on one knee.

Sobhita shared that their relationship didn't have a dramatic turning point; it developed organically over time. When it was time to take the next step, they opted for a low-key approach. Naga Chaitanya met her parents, while she got acquainted with his mother and later his father.

Once they received their families' blessings, the Thandel actor proposed without any extravagant displays, simply asking her to marry him. With a touch of humor, Sobhita described the moment as "more of a crouch" than a typical proposal.

Despite sharing the same mother tongue and working in the film industry, their backgrounds were quite distinct. Chay grew up in Hyderabad, while Sobhita was based in Mumbai. He spent his childhood in Chennai, whereas she hailed from Visakhapatnam.

Naga Chaitanya's initial attempt to connect with Sobhita on Instagram was met with a delayed response, adding a touch of humor to their early interactions. He had followed her, but she hadn't reciprocated.

It wasn't until Sobhita hosted an "Ask Me Anything" session on Instagram that she realized this. During the same interview, she revealed that a fan's question about why she wasn't following him prompted her to check his profile. She noticed that he was following only about 70 people, including her.

Flattered by this gesture, she decided to follow him back. As she began seeing his posts on her feed, his frequent sushi updates caught her eye. What started as casual messages quickly blossomed into regular conversations. By April 2022, Naga Chaitanya had flown to Mumbai for a breakfast date with Sobhita, marking the official start of their journey together.
