SIT alleges violation: Sameer Wankhede didn't inform department about chats with Shah Rukh Khan

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) involved in the Aryan Khan drug case has expressed strong disapproval of Sameer Wankhede's communication with Shah Rukh Khan while Aryan was in custody. A senior officer, speaking anonymously to a news portal stated that they were unaware of the chats between Wankhede and SRK, and Wankhede failed to inform the department about them. 

The officer emphasized that engaging in such conversations with the family of the accused is a serious violation of rules, and an inquiry will be initiated against Wankhede for this act.

The SIT further argued that the charges against Aryan Khan were unjustified since no drugs were found in his possession. 

They also highlighted that standard operating procedures (SOPs) were not followed, and no blood test was conducted on Aryan.

On May 22, the Bombay High Court reprimanded the former NCB chief for allegedly leaking his conversation with the Bollywood superstar to the media, despite the matter being sub judice. The chats revealed SRK discussing the ongoing probe with Wankhede and requesting leniency for his son.

Granting a continued exemption from arrests, the High Court has reportedly directed the CBI to file its response by June 3. Wankhede's team, on the other hand, has until June 7 to respond. The next hearing is scheduled for June 8.
