The upcoming Diwali season will witness an intense clash at the box office as Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 battle for screen space. With the films scheduled to release on November 1, tension has been rising between the two production houses. T-Series, the producers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, have reached out to the Competition Commission of India (CCI), raising concerns about unfair screen distribution.
T-Series has requested the CCI, which ensures fair competition in the market, to step in and ensure an equal split of screen time for both films. The production company is demanding that the screens be divided 50-50 between the two films to give both a fair chance.
A source mentioned to indianexpress.com, "PVR Pictures, the distributor of Singham Again, has already booked more than 60 percent of the shows at PVR Inox theatres for the film. Furthermore, some single-screen theatres have been told to reserve all showings for Singham Again, leaving Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 with only morning slots."
This situation has pushed T-Series to act swiftly and approach the CCI for equal showtime distribution between the two Diwali releases. They want to avoid being at a disadvantage at the box office, considering the popularity of both films.
Interestingly, Ajay Devgn faced a similar situation back in 2012 when his film Son of Sardaar clashed with Jab Tak Hai Jaan, resulting in him approaching the CCI back then too. With Singham Again starring a massive cast, including Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 bringing back Kartik Aaryan and Vidya Balan, the Diwali clash is expected to be a massive showdown.
