'Singh is Bling' becomes Akshay's biggest opener, mints Rs.20.67 crore

Akshay Kumar's action comedy film "Singh is Bling" has had a roaring start at the box office with a collection of Rs.20.67 crore on its opening day. The Prabhu Dheva directorial is also being tagged as the actor's biggest opener till now.

The film has received an overwhelming response at the box office. It is Akshay's biggest opening at the box office till now, read a statement.

"Singh is Bling", which also stars Amy Jackson, Kay Kay Menon and Lara Dutta, stars Akshay as Raftaar Singh. With positive word of mouth publicity, the film is expected to double over the weekend as there is no big release alongside apart from Irrfan Khan and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer "Talvar", which only managed to collect Rs.3 crore on Friday.

"Singh is Bling" is Akshay's second film with Prabhu Dheva after 2012 action masala film "Rowdy Rathore".

Akshay, who completed 10 million viewers on Twitter on Saturday, also held a chat session with his fans on the micro-blogging site to promote the film.
