In a shocking incident, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt and her filmmaker father Mahesh Bhatt received death threats from an unknown caller.

The man who hails from Uttar Pradesh had called up Mahesh Bhatt and demanded a sum of Rs. 50 lakhs. The caller had been constantly calling him and sending messages to him on his WhatsApp. He threatened him that if he failed to pay the amount, he would kill his daughter Alia Bhatt.

The Bhatts immediately informed the Mumbai Police and registered the complaint at the Juhu police station CR no 112/17. Following the complaint, the police force instantly jumped to action. Anti- extortion cell took over the investigation and after a thorough investigation, they identified the culprit.

The culprit was traced back in Uttar Pradesh. With the help of UP Special Task Force, he has been detained. After interrogation, he was arrested.

The Mumbai Police is on its way to UP to take him in their custody, after which they will get him back in Mumbai.
