Hiba Nawab and Krushal Ahuja's Jhanak has been under the scanner for quite some time now. With the show consistently performing poorly on the TRP charts, the show has reportedly received a notice by the channel. As a result of the same, the makers of Jhanak have decided to head for a generation leap, post which, the current cast of the show will call it quits.
Well, now, as per reports, Shoaib Ibrahim has been approached to essay the titular face of the show. Our sources say, ''Shoaib has been approached for the show and has also done a look test for the same. If everything aligns, he will be finalised for the role.'' While Shoaib has been away from fictional TV ever since his stint in Star Bharat's Ajooni came to an end, the actor has a strong presence in the digital world now and is loved for his Youtube content.
India Forums had earlier exclusively reported about Jhanak heading for a leap and the current cast, including the leads Hiba and Krushal exiting the show. Now confirming the news, in a recent media interaction, Hiba Nawab stated that she will miss playing Jhanak. ''I had to exit the show because I would not look convincing as a 45-year old woman. I learnt a lot of skills while essaying the role of Jhanak. I am not a trained dancer but I had to play a very good dancer in the show and so it was tough looking perfect and giving several performances in the show,'' Hiba told Bombay Times.
While we await more information on Shoaib's forthcoming stint on Jhanak, it will be interesting to see the actor make a comeback after a brief break from fiction TV.
