The highly anticipated return of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi appears to have been pushed back. The cult daily soap, which was set to return to television in July with its original lead cast including Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay, has reportedly hit a delay at the production stage.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the show’s reboot has been temporarily halted due to changes being made to the set. Amar Upadhyay, who reprises his role as Mihir Virani, confirmed the delay and attributed it to creative adjustments requested by producer Ektaa Kapoor.

“The set had to be reworked. Apparently, the color combination on screen wasn’t translating the way it should. Ektaa knows exactly what she wants — she’s a perfectionist,” Upadhyay told the publication.

The original Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi aired from 2000 to 2008 and played a significant role in shaping Indian television’s prime-time landscape. The announcement of its return, along with Smriti Irani stepping back into the role of Tulsi, had generated considerable buzz.

Commenting further on Kapoor’s approach to the reboot, Upadhyay said, “And this is Kyunki… it’s not just another show. It’s a legacy and she wants to do everything what’s best for the show.”

While initial schedules pointed to a July 2025 launch, the team is now focused on implementing the necessary visual changes before filming resumes. Sources close to the production suggest that the modifications are aimed at aligning the look and feel of the show with contemporary viewing standards while retaining the original essence.

As of now, no revised premiere date has been officially announced. However, the core team remains intact, and work is expected to resume once the set adjustments are complete.
