Samantha Ruth Prabhu's highly anticipated upcoming mythological film Shaakuntalam gets postponed again. Yes, the film was scheduled to be released this month, on February 17. However, the makers shared a statement to announce that Shaakuntalam has now been postponed and a new release date will be shared very soon.

The makers of the film took to Twitter and shared a statement to share that Shaakuntalam will not be released on February 17. The statement read, “WE REGRET TO INFORM OUR BELOVED AUDIENCE THAT WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO RELEASE SHAAKUNTALAM THIS 17TH OF FEBRUARY, WE WOULD BE ANNOUNCING THE RELEASE DATE SOON. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT AND LOVE.” The post was shared with the caption, “The theatrical release of #Shaakuntalam stands postponed. The new release date will be announced soon.”

The eagerly anticipated movie, is directed by Gunasekar, has gained popularity thanks to its official trailer and two singles. The third song from Shaakuntalam, Yelelo Yelelo, recently had its lyric video released on Thursday. Samantha plays the pregnant woman in the song, and the music attempts to express her various emotions. 

Makers statement

Last month, the official Shaakuntalam trailer was unveiled to mixed reviews from viewers. The first abandoned kid in human history, Samantha is revealed to be princess Shakuntala, the daughter of Menaka and Vishwamitra. The story of Shakuntala's struggle for love and the consequences it brings are the focus of the movie.
