Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan

Salman Khan's highly anticipated film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan hit theaters on Friday, marking the actor's return to the big screen after a four-year hiatus. However, the film failed to live up to expectations and underperformed in comparison to Salman's previous Eid releases from 2010 to 2019. According to film trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie earned just over ₹15 crore on its opening day at the domestic box office.

Despite opening in over 5700 screens worldwide, with 4500 in India and 1200 in overseas markets, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan struggled to attract audiences in metropolitan areas. However, it fared better in mass pockets, although not exceptionally. Gautam Dutta, Co-CEO of PVR INOX Ltd, had high expectations for the film and attributed the lackluster response to its release two weeks after Shah Rukh Khan's blockbuster Pathaan.

Comparing Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan to Salman's previous Eid releases, Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh noted the film's significantly lower opening day collection.

He shared a tweet regarding the same that read, "#KisiKaBhaiKisiKiJaan is underwhelming on Day 1… More so when one compares it with #SalmanKhan’s #Eid releases from 2010 to 2019… Metros weak, mass pockets better, but not great… Extremely important for biz to jump multi-fold today [#Eid]… Fri ₹ 15.81 cr. #India biz. #KBKJ."

In the following tweet he talked about other Salman Khan films and their first day openings at the box office. Dabangg earned ₹14.50 crore on its opening day in 2010, while Bajrangi Bhaijaan earned ₹27.25 crore in 2015 and Bharat earned ₹42.30 crore in 2019.

Directed by Farhad Samji, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan is a Salman Khan Film (SKF) production that also stars Venkatesh, Pooja Hegde, Jagapathi Babu, and Bhumika Chawla, among others. The film tells the story of two brothers and their bond, and is an action-packed drama with elements of romance and comedy.

Salman's fans will not have to wait long to see him on the big screen again, as he is set to star in the upcoming action thriller film Tiger 3, opposite Katrina Kaif. The film is slated to release later this year and is expected to be a box office success.
