Salman Khan saddened, mourns demise of 'Maine Pyar Kiya' composer Vijay Patil of Raam-Laxman duo

Music composer Vijay Patil of Raam-Laxman duo had given music for many hit movies like Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! Hum Saath Saath Hain among others.

It is indeed a dark day as the entertainment industry lost yet another talented gem forever. Composer Vijay Patil of the iconic musical duo Raam-Laxman passed away today morning after suffering a heart attack.

Vijay Patil, fondly known as Laxman of the Raam-Laxman duo had given music for many hit movies like Maine Pyar Kiya, Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! Hum Saath Saath Hain among others. Bollywood actor Salman Khan , who played the lead in these movies is saddened by the loss and mourned his demise on Twitter.

Salman Khan tweeted: “Ram Laxman, music director of my successful films like maine pyaar kiya, patthar ke phool, hum saath saath hain, hum apke hain kaun has sadly passed away. May his soul rest in peace. Condolences to the bereaved family.”

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar also paid her last respects to the music composer as she tweeted: “Mujhe abhi pata chala ki bahut guni aur lokpriya sangeetkar Ram Laxman ji (Vijay Patil) ji ka swargwas hua. Ye sunke mujhe bahut dukh hua. Wo bahut acche insaan the.Maine unke kai gaane gaaye jo bahut lokpriya hue. Main unko vinamra shraddhanjali arpan karti hun.”

Vijay Patil breathed his last at the age of 78 at his residence in Nagpur. His son said in a statement:

"He had taken second dose of Covid-19 vaccine, Covishield, six days ago. There was no problem at that time... But when he came home he developed weakness. His parameters were dropping. Doctors were attending at home. He passed away at around 2 am on Saturday. He had a cardiac arrest.”
