Directed by Om Raut, the film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is based on the life of Maratha warrior Tanhaji Malusare and stars Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Jagapathi Babu and Sharad Kelkar in the lead roles. It marks the 100th film of Ajay, and also is a reunion of the actor with Saif after a decade in Omkara, 2006.
The two actors were all praises about each other and expressed their happiness of working together again in Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. In a chat with Pinkvilla, Ajay and Saif reacted to Kareena Kapoor Khan’s stand on pay disparity. The actress had stated that even today, the ill of pay disparity exists in the industry.
Reacting to the same, Saif agreed firmly with his wife’s stand and stated that "I would say it is terribly unfair. They should get paid as much. I completely agree with her. I think the industry is very economically driven, so the people that pull at the box office get paid more, fair or unfair, it is like that.”
Besides, Ajay said, "There are actors who paid less than the girls,” to which Saif again intervened, "If the females tomorrow make a film which is shouldered by them and pull them off, immediately their fee will go up."
The actors' duo also commented on their film clash with Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak on January 10, 2020. "We are not playing the India-Pakistan match. Both are very different genres and we hope both movies will find the audience” said the actors about the box office clash.
