Saif credits Ex-wife Amrita Singh for his successful career!

It's been 25 years since Saif Ali Khan made his debut in Bollywood. Despite being aided with the filmy background he has managed to create his own identity with hard-work and sheer determination.

Initially, it wasn't easy for Saif. The actor married Amrita Singh in 1991 when he was 20 years old. The couple started-off just fine until their relationship hit the roadblock in 2004 which resulted in divorce and they decided to part ways.

Things may not be better between the Saif and Amrita but the actor completely gives her the credit where it's due. 

It seems the Laal Kaptan actor is still in admiration for the teachings of his ex-wife. 

Talking to Mid-Day, the actor was asked about how his ex-wife helped him in his career. He said, 

I also ran away from home and got married at 20. And I’ve to give Amrita [Singh], my ex-wife, credit for being the only person who taught me to take it all [work/show-business] seriously. She said you can’t hit the target while laughing at it. That’s when Parampara happened.

The actor further mentioned Amrita was the only one person who told him to believe in himself when he was clueless about how to approach his character in Dil Chahta Hai.

Currently, Saif and Amrita are co-parenting their kids Sara and Ibrahim. The 49-year-old actor is currently married to diva Kareena Kapoor Khan and has a son together Taimur.

On the work front, Saif will be seen in Jawaani Jaaneman that also stars Alaia Furniturewalla, and Tabu in the lead role. The film is a coming-of-age story of a 40-year-old man and revolves around his relationship with his daughter. Directed by Nitin Kakkar, the film was initially slated to release on November 29, 2019, but has been reportedly postponed.
