Actor and comedienne Rytasha Rathore has witnessed quite a journey on the small screen so far where she starred in the longrunning TV show Badho Bahu and then went on to venture into comedy as she has starred in multiple comedy shows and standup acts as well. But it is her social media presence that has Rathore stand out on multiple instances with her bold images and statements as well.

In a recent interview with ETimes TV, Rathore talked about dealing with mental health, pressure of social media and her recent weight loss. First talking about the weight loss, she said, "My weight is the least interesting thing about me. I am on a journey to be alive and present in my body, mind, heart and soul. Everything else is a byproduct of it. It is high time we stop obsessing over how women look and focus on all the other amazing things they do. But if you must know, during the first lockdown I did start exercising everyday for one hour, to cope with my anxiety and weight loss. There was no extra effort, I just did all the housework and cooked my own meals and followed an overall healthier lifestyle."

It (social media) is a circus, a marketplace, a boon in many ways I cannot deny, that I am also extremely addictive and affects mental health.

Talking about being overwhelmed by social media, she said, "The right word for how I feel about social media now is befuddled. It is a circus, a marketplace, a boon in many ways I cannot deny, that I am also extremely addictive and affects mental health. There are days when I spend hours scrolling and I am left feeling drained. Those days I really berate myself for going down that rabbit hole. It is unnecessary noise which clouds my brain. I am constantly negotiating with myself whether I have the power or my phone does. The smartphone has become an extension of physical bodies. I am struggling to understand or know who I am beyond the stimuli of social media, technology and information. I accept that it is a part of life and I am working on restoring the balance and going deeper into my human experience."

She concluded by saying that he is still learning to practise gratitude, mindfulness and faith.
