Children writing fantasy stories are known around the world. But a nine year old girl, writing about her journey doesn't that sound odd? After all, her life must not even have started! But, if you knew Rubina Ali, then you wouldn't be surprised.

Rubina Ali, known all around the world as young Latika, the love interest of the multi-Oscar winner "Slumdog Millionaire", has turned a new chapter in her nine years of life. She is writing her autobiography, rightly called "Slumdog Dreams: My Journey to the Stars". In the book she will be talking about how she rose from a slum-girl playing marbles with friends and dancing to chartbusters in front of the old television in her dilapidated home in Garib Nagar in Mumbai, to a star in her own right, delighting the whole world with her endearing smile and sweet charm. The story, although, is not without its set of drama. First, there was news of her father trying to sell her to a couple and then her house being run down by the local municipalities and rending her homeless.

The book will be published by based publishing house, TransWorld and released in and the next month on 13th.

Children's stories are usually sweet and funny and imaginative. They live in their own beautiful fantasy world not very different from "Terabithias" and "Narnias" and "Hogwarts".
