Last year today, Bollywood’s original chocolate boy, Rishi Kapoor left for a heavenly abode after battling with cancer for two years. His sad demise left the entire nation shocked, as the beloved actor passed away on April 30, 2020. Apart from being a celebrated actor, people close to Kapoor also recall him as a great human being.
Now, Rishi Kapoor’s co-star and prominent Bollywood actress Rati Agnihotri who worked with him on several films shared her fondest memories with him including how they made a great team when they were paired as lead actors and later as senior actors in many films.
Speaking to Bollywood Times, Rati who is currently stuck in Poland owing to the pandemic. "Chintu was superb to work with and we made a good team. We did a few films together, as senior actors and as lead actors too. We acted together in Hum Tum, Kuch Khatti Kuch Meethi, Yeh Hain Jalwa, Tawaif and Coolie," Rati Agnihotri.
She added that He was an amazing actor and they formed a great working team together.
Tawaif, he and I shared a great rapport and it was one of my best performances with him. In fact, once he had also mentioned how he had done films like Tawaif, Damini, Chandni, which were women-oriented films and helped the future way of thinking and content in films. I am proud that I was his co-actor in many films. He was a very talented actor and truly a greater co-actor.- Rati Agnihotri
Furthermore, she also appreciated Rishi Kapoor's depth on any subject of conversation.
She said, "He was also good at the art of conversation and came up with interesting subjects. In fact, he could talk on any subject so whenever we would wait in-between shots, time just flew. He was truly one of the best actors of Bollywood, truly missed."
On Rishi Kapoor's first death anniversary, the Kapoor family has hosted a puja for the same. However, amid the second wave of the novel coronavirus and Randhir Kapoor’s diagnosis, the puja will be attended by only a few family members.
Earlier, Neetu Kapoor took to Instagram and shared a black and white throwback picture. In the picture, she can be seen dressed in a saree and jewellery as Rishi is probably telling her something.
The actress remembered her late husband and recalled how ‘all of last year has been of grief and sadness’. She also mentioned how the family misses Rishi Kapoor each day.
