Richa Chadha has left everyone floored with her performance in Heeramandi. The actress played the lovelorn Lajjo Jaan with a haunting precision. While her character did not have a lengthy arc in the series, her act stood out like always. Richa Chadha told a news agency that she was worried that her character might get lost in the eight episode series. She said that it was a small part and the show has a number of actors. Richa Chadha said she is glad that her risk paid off. The actress was convinced right from the start that Lajjo Jaan would strike a chord with one and all. 

She also said that people from all age groups and generations have loved the role. Richa Chadha said the vulnerability and heartbreak of the character did the trick. The actress said everyone has had their heart broken at one point or another so people found it easy to sympathize with the character. Richa said that she is basking in the unanimous praise that has come in for her performance. The actress said even industry peers have complimented her work generously. She said if she had done some other character she would have been seen longer but the surprise value would not be there. 

The actress praised Sanjay Leela Bhansali saying that he loves to improvise. She said that when he is deep into a shot, he is literally living the moment. Richa Chadha had said that any actor passionate about the craft would like to work with him.
