BTS' Min Yoongi aka SUGA makes 'biggest donation ever' of five billion won; Indian fans join the effort

Korean media is reporting about how BTS' SUGA whose real name is Min Yoongi has donated five billion Korean won for autistic children. It is the highest donation made by an Korean entertainer

BTS rapper, music producer and song-writer Min Yoongi known as SUGA/AgustD has made a donation of five billion Korean won for the Severance Hospital. He was also part of a MIND programme that helped children on the autism spectrum work on their social skills and independence through music. The hospital authorities revealed he was part of the programme for close to eight months where he spent every weekend with the hospital. BTS’ Min Yoongi aka SUGA played piano and guitar for the children and also encouraged them to learn instruments. It seems a couple of children who were not responding much to verbal therapy showed signs of more interaction.

The rapper had formerly said that he studies psychology when he has free time. Min Yoongi aka SUGA has been candid about his struggles with mental health. From battling physical ailments to dealing with anxiety, he has revealed how music healed his mind and soul. After the news of his donation went viral, Indian fans of BTS decided to join his initiative. They are also making donations to centres for autism in India. The BTS fandom is also doing its best to connect with such organizations and help children. The Korean boy band is known for its positive influence. Desimys had donated during the Assam and Kerala floods, COVID-19 showing their interest in social causes of national interest. However, BTS’ Indian fans got prominence during Operation Sindoor when they fought the narrative of India being an aggressor after air strikes on Pakistan’s terror hubs. They took over TikTok leaving Indian netizens in awe. BTS are yet to come to India for a concert. However, they know how much they’re loved in the Indian subcontinent.
