Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana is making a lot of noise among fans. They have been eagerly waiting for updates on the star-studded cast and the release dates. Now, Ravi Dubey has spilled the beans in an interview with Connect Cine that he will be essaying the role of Lakshman in the movie. He mentioned that the film is created with a lot of seriousness and collective sincerity.
Talking to Connect Cine, Upon being inquired about portraying the role of Lakshman, the question was posed, he said: “With due permission of my makers, yes, I am. What I felt was there was a certain sanctity to the project and I feel Namit sir, Nitesh sir, might have a plan as to how they want to talk about it. I will be corrupted if I just blurt out things frivolously in front of people. It would be very unhygienic for me to say ‘No comment’ which will be as good as a comment. So I took a due permission from them and I told them that if at all this question comes up then what should I say? When they said yes is when I am saying yes.”
He also shared his experience of working with Ranbir Kapoor and said, “I am playing Lakshman in the film. I finally have the permission from the makers to reveal this. I didn’t talk about it all this while because I didn’t want to give irresponsible statements and spoil Namit (Malhotra) and Nitesh sir’s plans to reveal the cast." Ravi added, “He is like the elder brother I never had." He added, “He is kind, warm, he is the most immaculate professional that I have ever met. This is my first time working alongside a megastar like Ranbir Kapoor and his kindness, empathy, silence and grace towards everyone (is impeccable)."
“Every time he is in front of camera, you will see he has been at it. He is the only commercial, viable artist of this generation," the actor added.
Ranbir Kapoor has officially booked Diwali 2026 and Diwali 2027 for Ramayana Part 1 and Ramayana Part 2. The initial poster of the film has been unveiled alongside the release dates. Ranbir takes on the character of Lord Ram in these two-part movies directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The confirmation of the release dates came from Namit Malhotra of Prime Focus Studios.
