The festival of Rakshabandhan is certainly one of the most awaited and loved ones, especially for our on-screen characters. While, the festival is about how a brother vows to protect his sister no matter what, we thought of giving it a twist and infact listing down moments, when these on-screen sisters turned saviours for their brothers.
Daya (Disha Vakani) and Sundar (Mayur Vakani) in 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah'

Apart from their on-screen bonding, it is only fitting that they are one of the most loved sister-brother duos of Indian Television. Reason being, they are real life sister-brother too. We are talking about Disha Vakani aka Daya and Mayur Vakani aka Sundar. The duo share a perfect chemistry on-screen, which is certainly an outcome of their off-screen bond. The way Daya always comes to Sundar's rescue whenever the latter is facing flak from Jethalal (Dilip Joshi), is completely adorable. And why not for her brother, as he totally justifies it all.
Simmi (Shireen Mirza) and Raman (Karan Patel) in 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein'

While 'Yeh Hai Mohabbatein' has another contender in the form of Adi (Abhishek Verma) and Ruhi (Aditi Bhatia), the sister-brother duo of Simmi and Raman have always been an absolute treat. Technically, Raman has always been the literal 'saviour' for Simmi in various situations, but that happens only after the immense support that Simmi gives to Raman. An otherwise stubborn Raman only listens to his lovable sister, Simmi.
Priyanka (Subha Rajput) and Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta) in 'Ishqbaaaz'

While, 'Ishqbaaaz' is all about brotherhood between the trio, Shivaay (Nakuul Mehta), Omkara (Kunal Kulbhushan Jaisingh) and Rudra (Leenesh Mattoo), the sister-brother bond has been immensely highlighted as well. The bond that Priyanka (Subha Rajput) and the three brothers share, is endearing and an absolute treat to watch. However, when it individually comes to Priyanka and Shivaay, the otherwise stubborn and 'I-wont-listen-to-anyone' Shivaay, is only calmed down and made to listen, when his lovely sister Priyanka talks to him, thus qualifying her to be hia saviour.
Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes) and Saurabh (Alpesh Dhakan) in 'Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi'

The quintessential example in this category is the brother-sister duo of Sonakshi (Erica Fernandes) and Saurabh (Alpesh Dhakan), who undoubtedly have the most endearing bond amongst all. Sonakshi has always been the supportive and flag-bearing sister of the family, especially to Saurabh. Saurabh, who frequently faces business losses, has Sonakshi coming to his rescue. Even, as the latest track suggested, Sonakshi, who is now married to Dev (Shaheer Sheikh) helped Saurabh indirectly and financially.
