Rahul Dev on experiencing 'guilt, hesitation’ after son Siddharth learnt of his relationship with Mugdha Godse

Actor Rahul Dev got candid about his relationship with Mugdha Godse and shared that his son knew about his love affair. He also shared that there was no need to ‘hide’ it from the rest of the world. 

For the uninitiated, Mugdha-Rahul are one of the most admired couples in Bollywood. 

They met at the wedding of a mutual friend in 2013, and, on the same day, he met his guru, Tarneiv ji. They have been in a live-in relationship for a long time now and often answered questions about their plans of getting married. While the two have denied labelling anything with marriage, Mugdha in her previous interview said that they already feel like they are married and are just a sign away from the thing.

Speaking about the same, Rahul in a recent interview, addressed his relationship and shared having experienced 'guilt' and other doubts when he began dating Mugdha in 2013. He also admitted experiencing hesitation, when his son Siddharth, learnt of his relationship with Mugdha. 

Rahul Dev was previously married to Reena Dev for 11-years before he lost her to cancer in 2009. 

Talking to RJ Siddharth Kannan, Rahul said, "When I was married, I never used to hide the fact that I was married. I hadn't even done a film at that time. There are very few things in life that are real. Everything else is... There is a work dream that you're chasing, there are some other things, everyone has passions. That whole fabric of life if you weave together, if there is someone who is important to you, I can't understand why I would want to hide them. The only point where I would initially sort of struggle is I didn't know how my son's going to react. But when he knows, then there's no point."

When asked about the hesitations he experienced about entering into a relationship with Mugdha, Rahul said, "I think anybody who's had a fantastic first relationship would always feel if this is correct, in this day and age... There is a gap, in terms of years. So I used to feel if this is proper on my part. There were many things. You have a next in line, he was very, very young. And the other side of the family. You'd feel that you would hurt them by moving on with your life."

Previously, Mugdha spoke about Rahul and shared that he was very forthright about laying all his cards on the table. The actress was a little taken aback because they had just started seeing each other.
