Pushpa 2: Siddharth takes a dig at Allu Arjun's Patna event; says, 'Even if you station a JCB'

Pushpa 2 has literally bulldozed all box office records set by films like Baahubali 2, RRR, Jawan, Animal, Pathaan and more. Allu Arjun has proved himself as the ultimate Pan-India superstar. His movies that come on cable like Aarya made him a star even in the states like West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and others. Such small centres too are seeing massive bookings for Pushpa 2: The Rule. The trailer launch was held in Patna’s Gandhi Maidaan. Around five lakh people came to see the stars of Pushpa 2. This left people amazed. Actor Siddharth in a recent interview has dismissed this as marketing. Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan has shared one clip that is going viral.

In the clip, Siddharth says that marketing has nothing to do with the quality of cinema. He said crowds even gather near a JCB digging site when asked about the huge crowd turnout at Patna for Pushpa 2. Siddharth is heard saying, “That’s also marketing. In India, people gathering is not an issue. Even if you station a JCB in our country, it will attract crowd. It’s not a big deal to see a huge crowd in Bihar. If you block a huge ground and organise something, then people will definitely turn up. For that, they have a song and a film.”

He compared crowd for the movie to an election crowd. Siddharth said that all political parties bring in big crowds but that does not mean that they win seats. He was quoted as saying, “In India, there’s no relation between a large crowd and quality. If that’s the case, then all political parties should win because they see large crowd. Back then, it was called the biryani and quarter packet gang. It's easy to be hailed as a king when you're showered with applause. Gaining that applause is easy.”

Pushpa 2 is going to be the first movie to reportedly make Rs 750 crore gross from Hindi belt alone. On Sunday, Maharashtra saw collections of Rs 20 crores. Even a quieter state like Gujarat is seeing big numbers. Allu Arjun has done a tremendous job as an actor in the movie. Rashmika Mandanna too is getting a lot of love. But fans felt that Fahadh Faasil’s character could have been better.
