Producer Rahul Tewary, who will soon be making his foray into the OTT space as well, says that convenience viewing has changed the way people consume content. Rahul, whose brand new show Udne Ki Asha is being loved on TV, says that he has his eyes set on the web now, and is all set to make shows in that space as well.

“You will see us make shows for the web soon. There is a TV broadcast model that is apparent in today's market, across a lot of broadcasters. All the broadcasters that have satellite channels are also looking for TV ++ shows in their digital domain, we are in conversation and Very soon you'll see us with digital shows”, he says.

He adds, “Earlier, we had an appointment format, but that model has become obsolete today, if I may say so. So let’s say, it’s Nine o'clock, people will be in front of the television. But in digital, it has the same content available a day early and all episodes can be watched at any time for free. So the only thing that has changed is from appointment viewing, the world can view your content anytime.”

Meanwhile, talking about his love for production, he says, “I think a producer's job is to create a healthy environment for different talents right from a writer, director, DOP, and so on. The producer starts to shortlist the right talent and makes sure that everyone is aligned to one vision, which is the vision of the show. I've always liked such challenges and I've been doing this for 14-15 years now.”

He adds that the pandemic hasn’t brought about much change in production systems though. “In terms of production, there are no such challenges. Of course, Covid and post Covid, we live in very different worlds. And we all knew how to function with limited resources, but I guess everything is back to normal today. Having said that, I don't think there's a huge difference in what we did before or post-Covid. But the fact that today's programming has become an everyday format can be challenging at times. Today, all the broadcasters are looking for 7-day formats. So that has increased the pressure slightly.”
