Kim Soo-Hyun, late Sulli's controversial movie Real back in demand on OTT platforms

Kim Soo-Hyun and late singer-actress Sulli worked together in Real movie. A thriller around a casino in Asia, it had Kim Soo-Hyun in the lead. His cousin Lee Sa Rang directed the movie after the original maker Lee Jung Sub exited the film over creative differences. After his alleged involvement in the Kim Sae-Ron matter, the brother of Sulli posted cryptic comments on how he felt his sister was wronged. Sulli whose name was Choi Jin-Ri died by suicide after the release of the film. Real was panned by the critics who felt the female actresses who were just kept for the casino, drugs and sex scenes.

The film Real is now back in discussion. People who did not watch it and now revisiting the film to see what was the controversy all about. As per AllKpop.com, Real took the 4th spot on Netflix Korea’s Top 10 Movies of the day, 3rd on Coupang Play’s Top 20 Popular Movies This Week, and 6th in TVING’s Real-Time Trending Movies. Choi Dae-Hee the brother of Sulli said the film was promoted using the sex scenes clips, which led to his late sister’s cyber-bullying. He said that Kim Soo-Hyun rushed off to the military while she had to face all the criticism.

The brother of Sulli said during the funeral of his sister he came to know from staff members of Real movie, that they did not use a body double even though someone was present on the sets. They said she was unwell and convinced Sulli to go ahead with the explicit scene. It is also alleged by him that the scene was not part of the original script. The makers added it at the last moment.

Sulli died because of depression caused by immense cyber-bullying. Kim Soo-Hyun or his cousin did not take any responsibility for the flak that Real movie got for its bold content.
