Pooja Bhatt on Why Alia is a Star: "As long as you Look okay, Show up and your Waist Size is perfect, Nobody Cares"

Alia Bhatt has been making to the headlines for all the right reasons and her screen presence has mesmerized her fans with her talent. Many famous filmmakers are trying to rope her for their projects. 

Alia has always been applauded her for her hard-work, versatility and brilliant script choice. But, now half-sister Pooja Bhatt has a different tale to tell.

Recently, Shaheen Bhatt launched her new book - I Have Never Been (Un) Happier which reveals her struggles with anxiety and depression. 

The launch was graced by the entire Bhatt family including Mahesh Bhatt, Pooja Bhatt, Alia Bhatt, Shaheen Bhatt and Soni Razdan.

The event saw Pooja Bhatt talked about how the Bhatt family, except for Alia, everyone has inherited a ‘genetic flaw’ from father Mahesh Bhatt. She explained the flaw as them being brutally honest and blunt about their struggles.

She said,

We say things as they are and not how the people expect us to say them. And, I think the reason you (Alia) are so successful is that because you have not inherited that exactly like Shaheen and I have. You're able to separate the two. The truth does not go down well in Bollywood. We're living in a fake world which is full of appearances, where people don't want you to say, 'I'm not okay.' They don't give a damn whether you're a cocaine addict or have an alcohol problem. As long as you look okay and show up and your waist size is perfect, nobody cares about what's going inside.

On the work front, Pooja Bhatt will be seen returning to the big-screen with Sadak 2, a sequel to Sadak, after almost two decades. Directed by Mahesh Bhatt, the movie will see Sanjay Dutt and Pooja reprising their roles from the 1991 flick, along with Aditya Roy Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
