Paras Kalnawat on ‘Anupamaa’ controversy: Tiff with producer Rajan Shahi would definitely affect my career

While mostly, Star Plus show ‘Anupamaa’ makes through the headlines for the content of the show, this time around the show has managed to grab headlines because of the recent controversy. Paras Kalnawat who played the character of Samar in the show has been terminated by the makers on account of breaching the contract and signing a show with a rival channel. Paras apparently signed ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ for Colors before informing the makers of ‘Anupamaa’.

Rajan Shahi, producer of ‘Anupamaa’ (Directors’ Kut Productions) released a statement mentioning that they’ve terminated Paras from the show. Later, Paras also put out a few statements stating that he wasn’t happy with his character graph. He also stated that he hadn’t signed ‘Jhalak…’ when the news came out.

Paras has been going all out speaking his side of the story and defending himself from the allegations put on him. India Forums asked the handsome lad if he thinks that his career would adversely affect with this controversy, Paras with his contagious smile replied, “My career will definitely get affected by this. It will also affect my growth as well. Rajan Shahi is a very known and respectable producer. He is also a part of Producers committee and him calling me ‘unprofessional’ would affect how others perceive me and it had also resulted in my morale going down but I’m looking at the positive side. I believe ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ will do wonders for me and I’m keeping my fingers crossed for that”.

He added, “Had this incident not happened, Rajan sir and producer would’ve termed me as the most professional actor. Because they’ve complimented the same to me in front of the entire cast of the show. But now, hearing the exact opposite thing from the same producer will have a lot of questions being raised on me”.

Paras further also spoke at length about the politics on the sets of the show, senior actors being insecure of his growing fan-following, his scenes being chopped and a lot more.
