After months of speculation around declining ratings and shifting plots, Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin has officially wrapped up. Actor Param Singh, who joined the show during its third-generation leap, recently reflected on the final days of the show and the reasons he believes it failed to connect with audiences.

In a conversation with The Times of India, Param described the mood on set during the last shoot as calm and matter-of-fact. “The last day on set felt surprisingly normal and peaceful. Since we had known about the show ending for the past 2–3 weeks there weren’t any emotional breakdowns. Everyone was calm and ready,” he shared.

The actor admitted that the show’s ending, while sudden, did not come as a complete shock. “Even though it felt sudden, I kind of expected it because the TRP was falling, and the new storylines didn’t really connect with the audience,” he said. He also added, with a touch of humor, “For me, I was actually excited to finally shave off the beard.”

Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin first premiered in 2020 and enjoyed a long run with multiple storyline leaps and cast changes. The original lead trio—Neil Bhatt, Ayesha Singh, and Aishwarya Sharma—was eventually replaced as the show transitioned into a new generation. Param joined during the latest leap as the male lead, playing the role of Neil Pradhan opposite Bhavika Sharma and Vaibhavi Hankare.

When asked what he believed went wrong, Param pointed to the disconnect caused by the leap. “In my opinion, the lack of connection between characters of previous season and ones after the leap could be a reason,” he explained.

Despite the show’s drop in ratings, Param remained positive about his experience. He expressed gratitude for the journey and acknowledged the team’s efforts to reinvent the storyline, even if the audience response was mixed.

With the show now off air, Param is moving on from the character and looking ahead. While his next project has yet to be announced, his focus remains on evolving as an actor—and growing past the beard that became symbolic of his recent role.
