Orissa actress seeks divorce from husband

Bhubaneswar, June 24 (IANS) Upcoming Orissa film actress Sonali Mohapatra is seeking divorce from her trader-husband Asim Amitabh Patnaik, her lawyer said Tuesday.

Mohapatra made her debut in Oriya film 'Satyameva Jayate' this year. 'Sonali filed the (divorce) petition because she was mentally and physically tortured by Patnaik and his parents,' lawyer Trilochan Panigrahi told IANS.

The petition was filed in the court of a civil judge in Puri Monday. Sonali has also sought police protection fearing threat to her life from her in-laws, the lawyer said.
